Field Day
Josh's teacher always has a field day that she hosts at her house where the kids compete in different competitions and activities. They did a long jump, throwing, racing, high jump, and an obstacle course. They finished with lunch. Normally this is a really fun activity, this year Josh kept being a poor sport and pouting that he didn't win or because he wanted to keep doing the same thing after they had moved on. I was at my wit's end at what to do with him since he was throwing tantrums like a two year old, while my two year old was wrecking the obstacle course! It is always difficult when you feel like you put so much into your kids and all that seems to come out in public is this monstrous image! Needless to say I went home in tears feeling so frustrated and embarrassed! Guess we will try again next year!
Smart Start
Josh (and Tommy, and I) love Smart Start Academy. The owner is amazing, the teachers are the best and the curriculum and atmosphere is wonderful. Josh has flourished and it has been so fun to watch and to volunteer in his class. Tommy screamed in protest every day we left Josh there because he wanted to go with big brother!
Farm Field Trip
Josh's school took a field trip to a local farm. Of course my boys wanted to chase the peacocks and pickup all of the rusty metal that the other parents were warning their kids they would get Tetnus from! After the farm, we went to the park and had a picnic and let them play till it was time to go.
School Program
Josh had his School program this year. We kept Tommy in his chair by bribing him with snacks. Josh struggled a little bit this year. He was tired before the program started, but wouldn't take a nap. As the program progressed, Josh kept antagonizing the kids around him. Finally during one of the stick performances, the boy in front of Josh turned around and whacked him right on the head. I went and talked to him and his amazing teachers worked with him. Despite tears and tiredness, he finished his part. I was so proud of him!
Office and Library
I finished the remodel on the basement throughout the winter. We removed our huge coal furnace that took up half of the basement, replaced it with a propane furnace that now sits in a closet, and finished off the remaining space. We now have the laundry room done, which includes my sewing and craft room, a storage room, and my favorite room in the house now, a study complete with a library area and office space! The boys love to cuddle on the couch and read endless books!

Green Eggs and Ham!
Heres a snap shot of our traditional green St Patrick's Day breakfast! The boys love it, the adults get grossed out!
Easter memories
We had a nice sunny day for Easter this year. The boys had a fun time hunting for their Easter baskets and doing an Easter egg hunt, then rolling the eggs in a race down the hill.
Flying kites...attempted!
I remember flying kites as a kid. After trying to fly them with my kids I have come to a couple conclusions; one, the kites were either better built, two the wind was better years ago, three my memories were rosie and I didn't realize how much my mom did to help me fly them! Despite our kites crashing much more than they flew, we still had fun!

Boys room/ Toy room
We decided to have the boys share a room so they could have one room dedicated as a toy room. I finished Josh's quilt and we had fun rearranging, decorating, and organizing. The boys love to share a room. They bounce on beds, and late at nights, when they can't fall asleep, when Tommy is crying, I can hear Josh lovingly invite Tommy to come lay in his bed so he wont be sad.
