A Couple Hour Getaway

We stole a couple of precious hours and went away for a break up to sinks canyon and Lander's city park. We built a fire and roasted giant marshmallows and corn on the cob. Then we played in the river and went to the park. Josh let his dad push him in the swing for almost a half hour! Then on the way home, some people let him walk on their tight rope.

Chunky Monkey

What else can I say other than...MILK, it does a body good! Maybe he needs to go to skim!

A Mind of his Own

Some cute photos that I must share!  Above, I came into the living room to find Josh because he wasnt answering a question I had asked. I found him like this. I called his name because I thought he was pooping, and no answer. I got down on the floor and looked at his face and discovered he had fallen asleep!

This is an image I find all too often...my self sufficient boy rustling up some grub! Anything you can image from cereal, to candy, to fruit, to peanut butter and honey sandwiches that he makes himself. He is quite the chef!
DANCING! I love dancing (you name it I did it) and before I got married I used to ballroom dance, and country swing at clubs and with friends...just like they used to 50 years ago! Well... I got married and now sometimes Mike holds me and we sway back and forth! So the solution...I gave birth to boys and WE dance! Thankfully they love it as much as I do...at least for now! Our kitchen is the favorite spot and we crank up the tunes. (Even if they are songs about excavators and bulldozers!)

A potty training incident gone askew....and all over grandpa Dimick! Ooopsie!

Josh is connecting eye to eye with his " My Bay Bo" (my baby brother)

Waterfall Hike

We came to see this pretty waterfall. It was Josh's great idea to keep hiking to the next one. After he had convinced us to keep walking, he feigned exhaustion and got carried the rest of the way up and down.Amazing how being a pack mule can make a short hike feel so long eh...or maybe I am just out of shape! (but we were still passing up people on the trail so we cant be that out of shape can we?)

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

Okay, this is one of those random tourist destinations that I thought was so cool. I love to see what people create under their individual circumstances! The doors were so small, Josh is standing in one above, and I am crouched down in one of the tiny rooms. They had rooms for storing their food they harvested for winter, tiny bedrooms, a worship area, a grainery, and little watch towers.

I must say, that I still prefer our little farm, but this might be a second choice...or third...or not.

Denver Children's Museum

We went to a children's musuem in Denver and I fell in love...Josh liked it too! Mike and Josh launched rockets while I replenished their rocket supply.

There was a tiny tot section that can only be described as 'magical'.  It was awesome and the pictures cant quite portray it all accurately, but they help.

Fire trucks to explore...

...an air station to make things, fly, hover, get sucked up and float.

Josh loves to paint and he and Mike painted pictures together.

Tommy just hung out in his stroller while Josh played with the train sets...he found the magnet and spent time picking up all the trains with it instead of building tracks.

The bubble room was a favorite...for the adults! Above, Josh watched while a girl made a bubble cage with her in it and below he caught bubbles as they dropped.

Josh LOVED the project station where there were tools and supplies to build things, he came back twice!

The grocery store and restraunt...

There was a vet clinic and he brushed, bandaged, and gave shots to animals before puttiing them in their cages.
