Machu Picchu, Peru

Dreams do come true! Mike has dreamed of going to Machu Picchu for years, and while on his mission to California, when he was struggling to learn the Spanish language, he motivated himself by making a promise to himself that he would go to Peru if he learned Spanish. We made it!

We spent 8 days traveling with nothing but a couple of backpacks, full of some clothes, water, and the bare necessities...yes, this is why I look like a scruffy vagabond! We slept in hostals, buses, and airport terminals. It was quite an adventure in a breathtakingly beautiful country.

The food was one of the favorite parts of the trip! who couldnt love the wonderful food!

One of my favorite parts about the trip was to watch Mike interact with the people he loves so much. It is such an inspiration to see him speak in a language that he once struggled so much with. The children loved him as much as he loves them and it seems we were often surrounded.
