Our First Christmas

Our First Christmas together was wonderful. As a couple, we really strove to focus the holiday on the true purpose instead of getting caught up in other pursuits. We started some of our own traditions and carried on some of the old ones.
We spent Christmas Eve with my family eating our traditional meal of fish and bread(...dont forget the figs) while we were dressed up in our ancient costumes, usually consisting of a bath robe and towel on our head!We spent the rest of the evening reading and acting out the nativity and sharing our gifts of letters written to the person whose name we had drawn out.
Christmas day was spent traveling to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where we spent the night and soaked in the hot springs. Mike and I had our own Christmas later at our home as we opened gifts, or letters from eachother or other family members. Our holiday was full of the spirit of Christ and permeated with love.
